RPF SEIZES ILLICIT LIQUOR UNDER ‘OPERATION SATARK’ AT ASANSOL RAILWAY STATION

Asansol, 10 October 2025:

Railway Protection Force personnel of Asansol Division conducted a special drive under Operation Satark on 09 October 2025 at Asansol railway station which led to the seizure of a large quantity of illicit liquor.

During the late-evening checks on Platform No. 4, the RPF team observed two passengers moving suspiciously with heavy bags near the Kalka end. On examination of the bags a substantial stock of liquor was found. The individuals could not produce valid documents and admitted that the liquor was being taken towards a dry area.

The seized liquor was taken into custody on the spot in the presence of witnesses following all legal formalities. The detained persons along with the seized articles were later taken to RPF Post, Asansol . The case is being handed over to Government Railway Police, Asansol for further legal action.

Asansol Division has stepped up its vigilance under Operation Satark to check smuggling, contraband and unauthorized liquor transport. These drives are part of continuous efforts to maintain a safe railway environment and protect the interests of passengers.
